    Generic Name: Sucralfate

    This medication is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the intestines.

    May Treat: Duodenal ulcer · Gastroesophageal reflux disease · Maintenance of healing duodenal ulcer

    Drug Class: Peptic Ulcer - Gastric Lumen Adherent Cytoprotectives

    Availability: Prescription Required

    Pregnancy: Consult your doctor

    Lactation: Consult a doctor before using

    Alcohol: Limit intake while taking this medication

    Precautions

    • Take on an empty stomach
    • Take doses regularly, even when feeling well
    • Do not stop medicine without calling doctor
    • Do not take antacids within 1/2 hour
    • Call MD or RPh re. timing of taking with other meds
    • Review all drugs you are taking with your doctor
    • May take 8 weeks for full benefit of therapy
    • For suspension, oral products : Shake well & measure with dosing spoon/cup/syringe.
    • For tablet products : Take at the same time every day.
