It's free, and it's definitely worth a visit. It was raining while we were there, and we overheard a tour guide imply that this was a benefit to us because normally the park would be much more crowde… Full review by tab_wl

Really lovely park with stunning views and incredible sculptures. The grounds are well maintained and colourful. The only thing letting it down is the lack of toilets. Full review by Acaj26

We went in Oct - and the leaves were a beautiful mix of orange, green and yellows - with the backdrop of the lush green park. It is so peaceful and quiet there, and if the weather was a bit warme… Full review by suzanne h

Hi, I plan to visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park on a Sunday in June. The plan is to take Tram 12 from Jernbanetorget to Vigelandsparken. Ticket information on ruter.no says - adult fare is NOK 36/way (NOK56/way if buy ticket onboard) Is there a possibility to buy two single-journey tickets at Jerbanetorget ticket office at one time; activate one for the going route, and only active the other one during the return trip when I am onboard tram #12 travelling the other direction returning to Jerbanetorget? Interestingly, I read that it is not possible to buy tickets on trams and metro carriages. One must either buy a ticket beforehand - which is what I planned to do as described above. I realise that it is not possible to activate a ticket onboard a "metro", ... is it then possible to active a ticket onboard a "tram" then ? Thanks, dsim

Norway is a super efficient country where almost every services are cut down. If you are just interested in that route you can buy single journey tickets and return tickets. I got mine from the kiosk (have to find them as they are along the town area stops) The origin to park ticket can be used vice versa as the system is based on entrance ticket scan only. Hope you can plan accordingly and there are day passes that are more worthwhile if you plan more travel but I practically walked during my 3 day stay except the Vigelund Park and the Food Hall.

Q:
How close can I park to the sculpture area?
A:
Answer from Swenija is nearly accurate. In weekdays you won't have a problem finding a place nearby, on either side of the park. Maximum walking distance is 500 meter. Enjoy!
