We will be there late July. We are staying in Nassau. How do we get to Georgetown to get to Tropic of Cancer beach? I am wanting to make best travel accommodations. Any suggestions? And is there anything you would do different?

Can anyone give specific directions how to get here? Is it before Santana’s and Moms bakery area if your coming from Georgetown? Are the trash cans you turn by on the right or left side of the road? Directions here are very confusing since signs are hard to come by and there are a lot of trash cans. Thanks in advance!

Yes when traveling south from Georgetown we stopped at Santana's for directions, and were told to turn back about 5 minutes the other way. If you reach Santana's you've gone too far. Look for a blue trash bin container on the left side and make the left there. There's a little sign, but it's bent out of shape and not too easy to see. The road in in very rough, take your time driving. You'll see the beautiful beach and plenty of parking, not crowded at all.
HI! Thanks for your write up about Tropic of Cancer beach. WE are planning a family trip in January for my husband's 50th. We have teenagers and wonder where is the best place to rent a house. We found a nice house on Jolly Holly Beach we are considering. The houses near Georgetown is cheaper but I've heard Tropic of Cancer is the nicest beach. Is there much point to renting a house near Georgetown to be closer to the center of the island? I think it is about a 30 min drive to Tropic of Caner beach from Georgetown. We will rent a car but I don't want to be isolated. Did you take day trips? What were your favorite things/restaurants/tour companies you used? I'd love any tips/feedback! Thanks!

My Sister, Husband and I stayed at Exuma Vacation Cottage rental by Valerie N. It had 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. She has an in ground pool and kayak's for guest use. The Tropic of Cancer beach is a very short ride. I found the whole island isolated with no night life and restaurants closed at 5pm. We didn't mind at all as we where in our cottage at 7pm every night. We too rented a car and traveled from Williamstown to Rolleville. We where on a mission trip to bring supplies to those schools and a church. We where going to take the water taxi to I think Stockton Island but due to the storms and big waves we opted out. We ate several times at Santanna's near Tropic of Caner beach. The average meal is $17 and remember they add the tip to your check. We would just get in the car with a lunch and stop whenever we saw a beach we wanted to check out. It was amazing all the small places we found. We did spend several days at Tropic of Cancer (our favorite) beach.
