The Alameda County Board of Supervisors publicly interviewed district attorney candidates and will select an interim DA who will serve until 2026.

OAKLAND — The seven finalists vying to replace recalled Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price are about to get their first and only chance to publicly state their case for becoming the county’s next top prosecutor.

The supervisors plan to winnow down a list of 15 candidates to no more than five during a special public meeting Thursday, before residents get a chance to hear from the finalists on Jan. 21.

Alameda County supervisors are zeroing in on a choice for a new district attorney. That decision lies with them following November’s successful recall of Pamela Price. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors has narrowed the field of candidates for district attorney to seven.
