Before the Australia vs England Champions Trophy 2025 match at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium on February 22 (Saturday), a bizarre mix-up saw India’s national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ mistakenly played instead of Australia’s ‘Advance Australia Fair.

A PCB official said that as this is an ICC tournament, the anthem playlist has been produced and distributed by the ICC

India may not be playing any match of the Champions Trophy on Pakistan soil but the Indian national anthem certainly made its way across the border. A glaring error ahead of the game between Australia and England saw the national anthem played in Lahore.

A few days after PCB complained to the ICC over a broadcasting gaffe during India's opening game against Bangladesh in Dubai, the former was left red-faced when India's national anthem was played for a fraction of a second at the start of the Australia-England Champions Trophy at Lahore.

Those who gathered at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore for the ICC Champions Trophy match between Australia and England witnessed a massive goof-up as the Indian national anthem was played for a few seconds as both the teams stood for their respective national anthems.
