It’s the week of top prospects in Boston. Roman Anthony, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, was called up and made his big league debut at Fenway Park on Monday in the series opener against the Rays.

Rookie Marcelo Mayer hit two of Boston’s four solo home runs and the Red Sox outlasted the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Wednesday night. Abraham Toro added a go-ahead homer in the fifth inning, and Jarren Duran also hit one to help Boston earn its second series win over the Rays this season.

But he's not the only star rookie in Boston. The Red Sox previously called up shortstop Marcelo Mayer, the No. 8 prospect in the sport. And he broke out Wednesday night with two home runs in his first two at-bats to lead the Red Sox to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton didn’t rule out potentially making his season debut vs. the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park this weekend. “I don’t know,” he said. “I’m not sure.” Stanton spoke to reporters hours before his first rehab game at Double-A Somerset at TD Bank Park on Tuesday night.

The New York Yankees are getting closer to getting Giancarlo Stanton back. He started a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset and could make his return soon.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that he’ll likely play again Wednesday and rest Thursday. And when asked if Stanton could be in the lineup this weekend in Boston, Boone didn’t rule it out,
