Gaza analyst says latest condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza ‘good step in the right direction’
A UK-based Gaza analyst said Tuesday that EU countries' latest condemnation of Israel's action in Gaza is "long overdue" but a "good step in the right direction."
The aid agency says its buildings in the central part of the territory were attacked after the military targeted Deir al-Balah, which had largely been spared.
The Middle East has been transformed since 7 October, and almost two years on, the conflict in Gaza is at another inflection point.
All options are on the table if Israel does not deliver on its pledges to facilitate humanitarian aid in Gaza, the European Union's top diplomat said on Tuesday.
Context: Deir al-Balah had been an informal refuge for Palestinians escaping other parts of Gaza, and huge tent camps have sprung up in the city. The city also hosts warehouses for the U.N. as well as guesthouses for U.N. staff.
