A fire has broken out at the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties and is spreading rapidly, threatening numerous hillside homes in the Calabasas and Hidden Hills areas.

Firefighters raced to contain a new wildfire that erupted near homes in the area of Calabasas and West Hills, northwest of Los Angeles, on Thursday afternoon. The Kenneth Fire has burned more than 900 acres and is 0% contained.

A new fire near West Hills on the border between Los Angeles and Ventura counties erupted Thursday after 3 p.m. as several other blazes are actively burning in the Los Angeles area, aerial footage shows.

The latest fire in Los Angeles is being investigated as a potential arson attack, according to NBC. The blaze, known as the Kenneth Fire, is burning in the city's West Hills area with zero per cent containment as it spreads across nearly 400 hectares.
