Firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze at Matunuck Oyster Bar on Succotash Road just before 4 a.m., Union Fire District of South Kingstown Chief Steve Pinch told reporters at the scene.

Fire investigators are now looking into what caused the fire on Monday night, and the Union Fire District's chief has said the building may be a total loss.

Hundreds of people are out of work due to the fire at Matunuck Oyster Bar, but the local community is working to ensure those employees are taken care of.
