The Trump administration is pulling nearly $4 million in funding from Princeton University, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced Tuesday. The big picture: The cuts come days after the administration already paused dozens of Princeton's research grants following similar federal funding reviews or revocations at other Ivy League schools like Columbia and Harvard.

The Ivy League’s president notified students and faculty of the suspended research grants, which include funds from the Department of Energy, NASA and the Department of Defense.

In a controversial move, the Trump administration has frozen over $1 billion in funding for Cornell and Northwestern universities, citing civil rights violations related to pro-Palestinian protests.
