Berard made it 2-0 when he entered the offensive zone on a two-on-one with linemate Will Cuylle and opted to shoot, rather than pass. He lifted a perfectly placed wrister over the glove arm of Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman (25 saves) and into the top corner at 12:53.

NEW YORK -- Jonathan Quick made 32 saves and the New York Rangers ended a four-game losing streak by defeating the Boston Bruins 2-1 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. Quick earned his 399th NHL win and first since Nov. 30. His next victory will make him the first United States-born goalie to win 400 NHL games.

Quick stopped 32 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Bruins. The veteran netminder went the entire month of December without picking up a win, but Quick's first start in January was a lot more successful and only an Elias Lindholm tally in the second period prevented him from collecting his third shutout of the season.
