Metacritic Crowns Sega As The Best Publisher Of 2024
Sega earns the top spot in Metacritic's 15th Annual Game Publisher Rankings. Rankings are based solely on critics' scores. Sega beat Capcom by a slim margin, while Nintendo placed 22nd on the list. Metacritic has crowned Sega as the best video game publisher of 2024,

SEGA Dethrones Capcom, Crowned Metacritic's Highest-Rated Publisher of 2024
By this metric, Capcom still managed a very impressive #2 ranking, barely edged out by SEGA; still deserving of its Capgod status. Interestingly, Aksys Games secured the #3 spot, with its highest scoring game being Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II at 83.

The stellar 2024 output from Sega has pushed it to the top of Metacritic's year-end chart, and made it the first publisher to achieve the feat three times.

The answer is no, but it did get very, very close. Capcom came in second with a grand total of 323.1 points and an average Metascore for all of its games of 82.1. The company that beat it was Sega who tallied 325.5 points and an average review score of 82.9, no doubt in part because of Metaphor: ReFantazio and its 94 rating on PS5.
