The Mets added Soto from the Baltimore Orioles, Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals, and Tyler Rogers from the Giants, creating a potentially devastating bridge to star closer Edwin Diaz.

Despite how unorthodox it may look, new Mets reliever Tyler Rogers has been one of the top bullpen arms in baseball for more than a half-decade now.

First, the Mets obtained Rogers from the fading Giants for pitchers José Buttó and Blade Tidwell, along with minor league outfield prospect Drew Gilbert. Tidwell was at Triple-A Syracuse after making two starts and two relief appearances for New York this season.
