The smoke floating over the border shared between America and Canada is now impacting air quality in states as far south as Texas, AirNow's data shows. The EPA has declared the air quality in states near the Canadian border as "unhealthy or "unhealthy for sensitive groups."

A number of states in the United States have declared air quality warnings with concerning levels noted across many of the Great Lakes states including Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.

With hundreds of wildfires burning across Canada, smoke has drifted into the northern United States, lowering air quality across roughly a dozen states.
