Roma announced on Sunday that the Serie A team's CEO Lina Souloukou has resigned, in the aftermath of the firing of coach and club icon Daniele De Rossi which has enraged supporters.

AS Roma Chief Executive Lina Souloukou has stepped down, the Serie A club said on Sunday, following fan anger over the sacking of manager Daniele De Rossi last Wednesday.

Lina Souloukou has announced her resignation. Her decision to step down comes four days after the sacking of head coach Daniele de Rossi. De Rossi’s dismissal was met with anger by Roma supporters, with Souloukou receiving much of the backlash.
