Alabama football receiver Ryan Williams shared on his podcast his memory from the 2023 Iron Bowl and fourth-and-31. At the time, Williams was still "flirting with Auburn."

Kalen DeBoer might have had to sacrifice the recruiting of some big fishes but Ryan Williams was surely not one of them. Although Williams openly admitted to totally "flirting" with Auburn, his heart was always with Alabama.

As for Williams’ recruitment, he reclassified in December and eventually decommitted from Alabama in January after Saban’s retirement. Williams took some official visits before National Signing Day — including one to Auburn — but he did sign with the Tide and enrolled over the summer.
