Stock Market Highlights: 29 out of the 50 constituent stocks of the benchmark NSE Nifty50 ended lower, dragged by Hindustan Unilever, Britannia Industries, BPCL, Tata Consumer, and Nestle India

In a highly volatile session, the Indian equity indices ended with little change on November 11. At close, the Sensex was up 9.83 points or 0.01 percent at 79,496.15, and the Nifty was down 6.90 points or 0.03 percent at 24,141.30.

On the 30-share Sensex platform, Adani Ports declined 3 per cent. Infosys, ITC, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, Airtel were among the other losers

After opening in green, the S P BSE Sensex reversed course, dragged down by banking, financial services, and auto stocks. The Nifty50, too, faced a broad-based decline, with nearly all sectoral indices closing in the red except for Nifty Realty.

Sun Pharma, Trent, HCL Tech, Infosys, and ONGC were among the top gainers on the Nifty index. Britannia Industries, HDFC Bank, NTPC, and Tata Motors were among the top losers.

Among sectors, all the sectoral indices ended in the red with auto, bank, capital goods, FMCG, metal, oil & gas, power, telecom, media, pharma down 0.5-2 percent.

Bank stocks HDFC Bank and State Bank of India contributed most to the Sensex fall. NTPC, Tata Motors and Bajaj Finance also contributed to the decline.

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened higher on Tuesday, amid strength in the US markets.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a flat start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,235 level, a premium of nearly 10 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
