A small earthquake was reported in Northern California on Friday afternoon. A 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook San Jose about 3:15 p.m. local time. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake had an epicenter about 5 miles northeast of Alum Rock,

Saturday's event was the sixth earthquake of magnitude 3 or higher since a magnitude 4.7 earthquake in the same area was widely felt across Southern California on Sept. 12.

The tremor struck at 3:15 p.m. northeast of the Alum Rock area with a depth of approximately 5 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The agency has not recorded any aftershocks, and there have not been any reports of damage. According to the USGS “Did you feel it?” report, at least 1,174 people said they felt the earthquake.
