The leader of a rebel alliance that has seized swathes of east Congo told Reuters on Thursday that insurgents were not bound by a ceasefire call from Congo and Rwanda's presidents and cast any minerals-for-security deal with the U.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has placed a $5 million bounty on the arrest of three rebel leaders – Corneille Nangaa, head of the Congo River Alliance, which includes the M23 rebels, and M23 leaders Sultani Makenga and Bertrand Bisimwa.

The Democratic Republic of Congo government has offered a reward of $5m (£4m) for help arresting three leaders of a rebel group which has seized much of the east of the country this year.
