The Senate Parliamentarian ruled on Monday afternoon that the provision prohibiting Medicaid funds from being used to reimburse health clinics that provide abortions can stay in the GOP’s budget reconciliation package.

Planned Parenthood North Central States, which covers Minnesota, said that nothing will change in Minnesota for the 22,000 patients who sought care using Medicaid in the wake of the Supreme Court's Thursday ruling.

The ruling allows states to kick any healthcare provider out of Medicaid just because they offer abortions, and opens the door to banning clinics for providing birth control and gender affirming care.
