Sony has announced that it will start selling the Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5 Slim console for $379.99 for a limited time. Sony released slim variants of its PlayStation 5 console last year. These redesigned consoles give the PS5 a sleeker look, but don't provide any significant hardware upgrades.

Top of many people’s wish list, the PlayStation 5 is rarely ever on sale, but Black Friday often brings discounts that see the console plummet to all-time low prices, as well as cheap PS5 bundles that throw in free PlayStation Plus memberships, games and more.

Sony is cutting the price of the “slim” PS5 digital edition by $70, making it more affordable for the holiday season. Typically, that PS5 model costs $449.99, but it will start at $379.99 through December 24th, according to a new ad.

Arguably the PS5 Pro‘s biggest obstacle was its large price tag. Selling for $699.99 here in the U.S., that is a big ask for a mid generation upgrade. However, if Japan sales are any indication, it seems gamers see the value of the new and improved console.
