Several members of the Texas Legislature are expressing their support after Gov. Greg Abbott asked the federal government to reimburse Texas for money it spent securing the border during the Biden administration.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed a special National Guard unit to the US-Mexico border on Monday. In Austin, a border Democrat has filed bills to help the governor be reimbursed for security efforts along the border.

The speech underscored President Trump's continued focus on immigration, which he called the nation's "number one issue."
