Three wildfires continue to burn in the Los Angeles region, according to Cal Fire. The Palisades and Eaton fires have scorched nearly 40,000 acres, destroying thousands of homes and forcing tens of thousands of evacuations. The fires are 31% and 65% contained, respectively, but authorities said earlier this week that the blazes had little growth.

"We are not out of the woods yet. Please stay on guard for a fast-moving fire," the weather service's Los Angeles office warned.

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,713 acres after being active for 10 days. A crew of 4,471 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 31% of the fire by Friday morning.
