The Trump transition team has vetted at least half a dozen potential candidates to run the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, with two front-runners emerging.

Rostin Behnam will resign as CFTC Chair on January 20, clearing the way for Trump to reshape one of the crypto industry's chief regulators.

In an October interview with Bloomberg Television, Behnam said the agency has been “stretched thin” in keeping up with new assets, including cryptocurrencies, following a court decision that legalized using derivatives contracts to bet on election outcomes.
