Police in D.C. said officers are investigating after a man was shot near Howard University on Friday. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) told DC News Now that just after 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of W St.

The shooting happened at the 200 block of W Street, a residential street, a block away from Howard's campus, according to MPD.

A shooting just one block away from Howard University's campus is under investigation. Two people were injured by the gunfire. FOX 5's Sierra Fox has more on the frightening situation.
