Following back-to-back road games, the Aggies return home to host New Mexico in the 114th playing of the Rio Grande Rivalry. NM State will be seeking its third consecutive win over the Lobos – a streak that would be the longest since 2009-11.

The Lobos lead the rivalry series 73-35-5 all-time but have dropped the last two meetings. As a defensive coordinator at UNM in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mendenhall compiled a 2-5 record against the Aggies.

For the past two seasons, NM State football has turned its season around following a win against New Mexico. The Aggies hope this streak continues heading into its competition against the Lobos on Saturday.
