Texas parents frantically posted photos of their young daughters on social media with pleas for information as at least 23 campers from an all-girls summer camp were unaccounted for after floods tore through the state’s south-central region overnight.

"People need to know today will be a hard day," said Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring, Jr. at a news conference on Saturday.

At least 10 inches of rain poured down overnight in central Kerr County, causing flash flooding of the Guadalupe River.
