Siemens Gamesa, the wind division of Siemens Energy , has won a turbine order worth more than 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion) to supply the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm of Iberdrola's ScottishPower,

The deal secured by the Hull facility is for the East Anglia TWO project off the Suffolk coast.

Under the agreement, Siemens Gamesa will supply 64 of its flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines for ScottishPower's third offshore wind project in the southern North Sea. These state-of-the-art turbines boast a rotor diameter of 236 meters and have a capacity of up to 15MW with Power Boost.

A Hull factory will supply wind turbine blades for Scottish Power in a contract worth more than £1bn. Siemens Gamesa will manufacture the blades for 64 turbines, which will be installed at the East Anglia TWO windfarm off the Suffolk coast.

Siemens Energy's (OTCPK:SMEGF) wind unit said Tuesday it was awarded a wind turbine contract worth more than £1B (~$1.29B) to supply the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm of Iberdrola's (OTCPK:IBDSF) (OTCPK:IBDRY) Scottish Power unit.
