A national furniture store chain is closing all 15 of its location in Michigan, with liquidation sales underway.

A now-bankrupt furniture store is closing all of its roughly 370 locations across the country, including seven in the Valley. American Freight, an Ohio-based appliance and furniture store said the closures were due to financial problems incurred because of “sustained inflation and macroeconomic challenges facing the large durable goods sector,

Store closing sales have begun in-store and online, with discounts of up to 30% off the lowest ticketed prices.

The Tacoma location of American Freight will close along with the other 327 stores in the United States. The parent company of the nationwide appliance and furniture store, Franchise Group, began Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in federal court in Delaware.

A large furniture chain announced the closure of all of its locations nationwide earlier this month, including many in Virginia and one in Maryland. American Freight has already begun closing down its 328 locations and its online warehouse.

The store closing announcement comes days after American Freight's parent company announced restructuring as part of a bankruptcy filing.
