GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is reminding the public of some key snowmobiling safety tips. The notice comes ahead of a three-day weekend due to Presidents Day and because there have already been 10 snowmobiling fatalities during the 2024-45 riding season.

Elsewhere in southern Michigan, a mix of snow and freezing drizzle could bring up to 2 inches of accumulation by 1 p.m. Saturday to Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch and Hillsdale counties. Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties could all get up to 4 inches by 7 p.m.
