I am not here to tell you that Marco Rubio’s boots matter. I am here to explain why people are talking about them. It is not because they are a decision that objectively merits consideration.

Rubio’s campaign later informed Politico that the boots were, in fact, from Florsheim ($135). Even rival campaigns got in on the fun: Yeah, @marcorubio , but can you rock these?

The boots sell for around $119 at Florsheim (way to be fiscally conservative, Marco!). If they were uber-pricey European kicks, chances are they wouldn’t feel like a pair of cement shoes.
