Nebraska State Fire Marshal Scott Cordes is resigning from his role to return to Norfolk as city administrator.

Jim Pillen appointed him as state fire marshal in 2023. Cordes' last day is March 7. Assistant state fire marshal Doug Hohbein will serve until a permanent pick is announced.
