Bob Uecker, baseball legend, played in El Paso Diablos exhibition game
Uecker, a catcher who played six seasons in the majors, began a a five decade career as an announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971. Uecker, who was nicknamed "Mr. Baseball," came to El Paso in 1982 for an exhibition game between the minor league El Paso Diablos and the Brewers.
The Brewers manager reflected to the Journal Sentinel on the final season and then the passing of one of his closest friends.
