Costco customers with dairy allergies may need to check their fridge due to 80,000 pounds of the retailer's butter being recalled for packaging missing the "Contains Milk statement," according to the U.

The retailing chain has recalled 80,000 pounds of butter because its packaging omitted an allergen warning. It follows a more dramatic packaging stumble from Mattel last week.

Save the addition of salt, spices and other add-ins for taste, butter is a single-ingredient food. So, it may come as a surprise that on October 11, the FDA recalled 80,000 pounds of Costco brand butter for containing its only ingredient: milk.
