Kwong, Orange County's health officer, on Friday reissued an emergency declarationn for the Airport fire that began Sept. 9 and has so far consumed more than 23,000 acres.

Airport Fire initially started 1:21 p.m. Sep. 9 in Orange, Riverside County. After being active for 11 days, it has burned 23,519 acres. A crew of 2,007 firefighters has been working on site and, by Friday evening, they managed to contain 51% of the fire. The wildfire originated from equipment usage.

The fire's grown to 19,000 acres in less than 24 hours, prompting evacuations. Fire officials said OC Public Works was moving boulders when the fire ignited in Trabuco Canyon.
