Marcus Semien hit an RBI single in the 10th inning and the Texas Rangers beat the Atlanta Braves 6-5 on Saturday night, seven innings after the second baseman took a 94.6 mph fastball to the helmet.

Harris, before the ninth inning, had hit a double, a triple and a home run. He stepped to the plate needing just a single to complete the cycle. But when his liner to left skipped past the outfielder, Harris didn't stop at first. He raced all the way to third. No cycle. We'll call it a tricycle.

Just this past month, the Rangers broke out their red hats for the first time this year vs. the Mariners. The red hats were the club’s only hats for its first three playoff seasons and a regular part of the rotation in the 2010-11 World Series runs.

Auburn baseball player Cooper McMurray signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves. McMurray hit 42 home runs during his three seasons at Auburn, including 14 in each season. He joins several other Auburn players who have signed with MLB organizations.

Friday started with good news for the Braves with Austin Riley being activated off the injured list. There weren’t many highlights after that, though, as the Braves’ second-half struggles continued with an 8-3 loss to the Rangers to open a nine-game road trip.

A down year comes with consequences, and one of those is that the Atlanta Braves clubhouse will likely lose some teammates in the coming days
