Both teams are preparing for their first conference matchup of 2024, with the Wolfpack winning two of the last three meetings since 2021, including a 24-17 victory last year. However, oddsmakers favor Clemson, and USA TODAY Sports’ six-member panel unanimously predicted a Tiger win.

Clemson DT DeMonte Capehart: Clocked at running over 17 mph in the App State game, Capehart is having the breakout year many expected of him in his fifth season. He’s the team’s best defensive tackle and has six tackles so far.

But the facts remain the same. The ACC holds every ounce of leverage, and Clemson and FSU saying they’ll stay in the league only under their terms is the ultimate walk-back, a desperation play. Which in turn means if the ACC goes along, it’s only offering those schools the dollar-lined off-ramp they’re desperately seeking.
