China on Friday warned the United States it did "not tolerate interference" after the US State Department called Hong Kong's announcement of bounties on six democracy campaigners based overseas "a form of transnational repression.

Hong Kong police have announced a fresh round of arrest warrants for six activists based overseas, with bounties set at $1 million Hong Kong dollars for information leading to their arrests.

The teenage activist, who attended some of the protests back in Hong Kong in her school uniform, having gone straight from class to the marches when she was as young as 13, has been described as a “brave” and “fiercely pro-democracy” figure by those that know her.

The Hong Kong government canceled the passports of seven overseas-based activists under the new national security law and banned the handling of funds related to these individuals.

Former lawmaker Dennis Kwok, who was born in Canada, had his passport cancelled by Hong Kong, while bounties were issued for a Vancouver-based newspaper editor and a federal Conservative candidate

The Hong Kong government has condemned Washington for extending sanctions imposed on local officials through to November 2019.
