Highway crews in North Texas are already out spraying brine ahead of potential winter weather next week. The salt and water mixture acts as an anti-freeze to prevent ice from binding on the roadways.

A high-impact winter storm is expected to affect the region from Saturday night through Monday morning, bringing all winter weather types, including heavy snow, significant freezing rain, and sleet, with widespread 6+ inch snowfall totals expected.
