The deadly Palisades Fire that tore through coastal LA left many homes burned to the ground. But one Pacific Palisades home still standing sustained another type of damage -- getting split in half by a landslide which experts say can follow fires that destabilize the soil and ground below.

Most of the more than 40 available engines could have been pre-deployed to fire zones before the Palisades blaze started, while others were kept at stations to help with the increase in 911 calls.
