The stellar 2024 output from Sega has pushed it to the top of Metacritic's year-end chart, and made it the first publisher to achieve the feat three times.

The answer is no, but it did get very, very close. Capcom came in second with a grand total of 323.1 points and an average Metascore for all of its games of 82.1. The company that beat it was Sega who tallied 325.5 points and an average review score of 82.9, no doubt in part because of Metaphor: ReFantazio and its 94 rating on PS5.
Nintendo Places Outside Top 20 In Metacritic's 15th Annual Game Publisher Rankings
SEGA came out on top in the latest list, with an average Metascore of 82.9 across a whopping 29 products (12 titles) released in 2024. Capcom, Sony and Microsoft all landed spots in the top 10, with the likes of Devolver Digital, Annapurna Interactive and Ubisoft all claiming a spot on the ladder ahead of Nintendo.
