Texas Democratic legislator Nicole Collier says she will remain locked in the Austin statehouse chamber until the House reconvenes Wednesday morning, the latest development in the two-week saga involving a redrawing of Texas’ congressional map.

AUSTIN, Texas — For the first time in two weeks, a quorum was met in the Texas House after many Democrats returned to Austin. That allowed the legislature to advance a bill to redraw maps that will likely affect Houston’s representation in Congress. Democratic leaders said they believe their quorum break was a success.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Democratic lawmakers from Texas just arrived at O'Hare Monday to head back to the Lone Star State. The legislators have been in Illinois for two weeks, protesting congressional redistricting in their state. Some of those lawmakers were in church Sunday at Saint Sabina and Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.
