The 28 permanent residents and hundreds of weekly visitors to the island of Lundy, who travel by ferry from Devon, will now be able to connect properly with the rest of the world.
Lundy is open to day visitors from April to October, however, if you’re keen to get in before then - or just have it more to yourself - you can also stay in one of the island’s 23 unique cottages.
That was the year that the then Lord of Lundy, Martin Coles Harman, who had bought the island for $80,000, was ignominiously charged by Britain with violating the Coinage Act.
