A nationwide furniture and appliance store is closing all locations including one in Columbia and 9 others. Sales are underway.

And the latest furniture news comes from American Freight, a national retailer that’s shutting down all of its stores, as its parent company, Franchise Group, continues Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. American Freight has a dozen stores in North Carolina, including one in Raleigh.

Franchise Group, based in Delaware, Ohio, is the parent company of American Freight and other stores including Vitamin Shoppes.

American Freight plans to close storefront locations, including in Houston, as its parent company, Franchise Group Inc., has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
