CHICAGO (CBS) -- Endeavor Health, a network of hospitals and medical clinics in the Chicago area, is shutting down inpatient psychiatric care later this year at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

More than 100 employees at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights will be laid off due to cuts in psychiatric services and other areas, officials said Thursday. Endeavor Health,

Inpatient psychiatric services at the hospital will be discontinued starting on April 11, according to Endeavor Health.

Endeavor Health will lay off approximately 100 people and “discontinue inpatient psychiatric services” at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, according to company spokesman, citing “significant cost pressures” and other changes that have required the health system to “think differently” about how it uses talent and resources.
