Novak Djokovic has admitted he doesn’t want his tennis rivals to pick up on Andy Murray ’s coaching advice while the Briton is in a courtside pod at the Australian Open. Up to four coaches are now allowed to sit in the specialised pods, which are located at the corner of the courts at Melbourne Park.

Novak Djokovic and his new coach, Andy Murray, are taking advantage of a new setup at the Australian Open that gives players' entourages a chance to sit right next to the court in special four-seat pods.

Novak Djokovic's first match with former rival Andy Murray as his coach did not start all that well, even against a 19-year-old making his Grand Slam debut. Still, after dropping his opening set at the 2025 Australian Open on Monday night to Nishesh Basavareddy,

"Andy Murray over there on the sideline, I think was starting to get a little nervous with what was going on."

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have known each other for a quarter of a century. They played from the age of 12, meeting 36 times as professionals, including 10 Grand Slam matches.
