Schroder, 31, will likely take over as Sacramento's starting point guard after the Kings traded De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs in February. He will join a lineup that features Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis unless the Kings make additional changes.

The Sacramento Kings announced today that the team has acquired guard Dennis Schröder and a 2029 second-round pick as part of a sign-and-trade with the Detroit Pistons in exchange for a protected 2026 second-round pick.

Dennis Schroder is leaving the Pistons and joining the Kings in the Western Conference with a new contract in free agency.
