Helion Energy announced that it has broken ground in Central Washington on what it hopes will be the world's first commercial fusion plant.

U S-based fusion energy company Helion has announced the start of construction on the site of its new fusion power plant, Orion, in Malaga, Washington. The development follows an environmental review process that concluded with a mitigated determination of non-significance (MDNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act.

On the banks of the Columbia River in the small town of Malaga, Washington, Everett-based Helion has broken ground on what it says is “the world’s first fusion power plant.”
