Statement from Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols: "Today, we mourn the loss of detective John Brown, a dedicated member of the Tulsa Police Department who served our city for over 35 years.

A 35-year veteran of Tulsa Police Department, John Brown died Sunday of complications from cancer. "He was the guy everyone wanted to work a case with," the Homicide Unit leader said.
