U.S. President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will likely talk "over the next number of days" after the U.S. imposed a 35% tariff on goods not covered by the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement,

The talks are expected following Washington’s move to slap 35 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods, Minister Dominic LeBlanc said Sunday.

Canada minister Dominic LeBlanc expressed optimism that a deal could be reached to reduce the newly imposed 35% US tariffs on Canadian goods outside the USMCA. He hinted at upcoming talks between Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Trump.
